I watched Newt Gingrich speak @ CPAC last night.
I found myself revved up, inspired and praying he would make an announcement, maybe throw his conservative hat into the ring?
Instead he gave a math lesson. A list of numerical statistics. They were profound.
The one that stood out and made the most sense. 80/20.
We have all heard the 80/20 analogy before, but Newt put another spin (no pun intended) on it.
He said (paraphrasing) I would rather have to argue with the candidate we have left - 20% of the time - versus arguing with a Liberal nominee 80% of the time.
In my heart, I know he is right.
I could not bear living 4 years under democratic rule, knowing I could have made a difference.
I don't like it. This not having a true choice. having to settle for third place.
I know what I am going to do.
Vote.
I refuse to believe that I am going against my core principles.
I believe in America.
I believe no matter the outcome, God is in control.
I was elected as the co-chair of our precinct, during our caucus on Super Tuesday. After Mitt dropped out and Fred backed McCain, I almost gave back the nomination.
I am glad I waited.
I am glad I am letting the dust settle.
Everyday is a new day.
NO!, I am not jumping with pom-poms... but I do have hope again.
Conservatism is alive and well...
Thank You Mr. Gingrich for the math lesson.
I will vote for you in 2012.
